Online Practice Available for MCAs
We had an opportunity in school to go online and try a portion of the MCA practice tests. Students are able to login again and finish their practice test, or start again. I have added the website information below.
You can do it Third Graders! You have prepared all year for this, you will do well!

- Choose Minnesota as a state
- Choose "Item Samplers" from the Quick Links
- Choose "Online Samplers" tab
- Then you can choose 3rd Grade Math (from page 1) or 3rd Grade Reading (from page 2)

Parents our MCA's are coming up very soon!
This is the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments. This test measures your student's third grade literacy and math skills. Please note these dates included below. Have your student get a good night's rest and a protein breakfast that day. Having a full tummy will help their brains focus on what they know, so they can show it on the tests. Please remember to send back your envelope with notes of encouragement for your student. I will hand out one note at each test session.
Reading Test dates:
Tues., April 21 - 11:50-12:35
Wed., April 22 - 11:50-12:35
Thurs., April 23 - 11:50-12:35
Fri., April 24 - 11:50-12:35
Mon., April 27 - 11:50-12:35
Math Test Dates:
Fri., May 1 - 11:50-12:35
Mon., May 4 - 9:40-10:30
Tues., May 5 - 9:40-10:30
As you can see we have many different test sessions to allow students time to finish each reading/section of the tests. You helping your child review MCA packets, and having your student reading each day will help to ensure success on the MCAs. Thank you for your continued support!!

Music Presentations
Today some friends presented during music class. We had: posters, piano music, homemade drums and more. Fun!!
Solid or Liquid
We explored a substance that acts like a solid and a liquid. Mrs. Mitchell came in helped us experiment with corn starch and water.

Data Analysis...
The students had fun taking a survey, gathering data, and creating graphs in math class.
Students created tally charts, bar graphs and line plots.
